Californians React to President Biden’s State of The Union Address

Sacramento, California – Valley Families Unite hosted two State of the Union watch parties in Corona and Modesto, California, where we engaged in thoughtful dialogue in response to the President's address.The State of the Union Address showcased the accomplishments of the Biden Administration, from the Inflation Reduction Act and the CHIPS Act to the Bipartisan Infrastructure, Investment, and Jobs Act. These initiatives have already begun yielding tangible benefits for individuals and communities across the country.

Rocio Del Carmen from Modesto, reacted to the State of the Union, stating, "High costs are impacting millions of Californians, including families like mine and tonight's State of the Union Address reaffirms President Biden's commitment to addressing the pressing issues facing our nation. Thanks to President Biden's Inflation Reduction Act,  Medicare now has the power to negotiate lower drug prices. Expanding the IRA could significantly alleviate my healthcare expenses. I urge my congressman John Duarte to lend his support to these important efforts.”

Elizabeth Reynolds, from Corona, added, “As a working mother, I connected with the initiatives outlined by President Biden in the State of the Union. As I consider my day-to-day challenges to balance home, life, career, and health, I find that Biden's policies represent a critical step in easing the burden that not just me but millions of people experience. President Biden gave me hope for my future and the future of my children. I hope my member of Congress, Ken Calvert, will step up to support the president’s priorities."
