Valley Families Unite Commemorates the Two-Year Anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
California – Today marks the two-year anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, a transformative initiative championed by President Biden’s Administration.
To date, nearly $33 billion in funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has been announced for California. This historic legislation aimed to significantly improve communities, delivering safer roads, cleaner drinking water, expanded internet access, reduced traffic congestion and enhanced emergency response capabilities.
Despite the success of this legislation, House Republicans are actively working against it. Congressman John Duarte (CA-13), and Ken Calvert’s (CA-41), who voted against the bill, now must ensure the continued success of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that greatly benefits their constituents with investments in their districts, including nearly $234 million in CA-13 and over $55 million in CA-41.
Irene Kao, Courage California Executive Director and Valley Families Unite coalition member, emphasized the positive impact of the Infrastructure Law on everyday working families:
"Two years ago, the Biden-Harris Administration passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, making crucial investments in our state and nation's infrastructure. This historic legislation has allowed us to drive on safer roads, ensures cleaner drinking water in every household by removing lead pipes, and facilitated greater connectivity through expanded internet access. It has truly made a difference in the lives of working families, by shortening commutes, reducing car repair costs and improving emergency response times for our first responders. While celebrating the positive impact of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we must remain vigilant. House Republicans like our own Congressmen Duarte and Calvert have voted to take away funding from programs created by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. We must continue to hold them accountable for trying to make decisions to the benefit of their party, and not the people, and call on them to protect these crucial infrastructure projects in their future votes."
