Valley Families Unite Welcomes Speaker Johnson to Fresno with Mobile Billboard Outside of Donor Fundraiser
Fresno, California – Valley Families Unite welcomed Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-4) to Fresno with a powerful message: protect the Inflation Reduction Act. As Speaker Johnson attends fundraising events with wealthy Republicans in the community, Valley Families Unite took action to ensure that the interests of all Central Valley families are represented and should be protected by Speaker Johnson and Congressman John Duarte.
Congressman Durate has voted repeatedly to raise costs for working families, including to raise the cost of health care. He also opposed the Inflation Reduction Act which lowers health care costs, reduces prescription drug prices, and capped the cost of insulin at $35 a month.
Valley Families Unite and Courage California Executive Director Irene Kao highlights, “Speaker Johnson’s presence in Fresno presents a unique opportunity to highlight the importance of safeguarding the Inflation Reduction Act for Central Valley residents. Speaker Johnson and Congressman Durate have made strides to try to repeal key elements of the Inflation Reduction Act that millions of Californians rely on, and it’s time we let them know that enough is enough. We need our elected officials to spend less time at high end fundraisers, and more time focused on supporting Californians who are struggling with the exhorted costs of living. Congressman Duarte, we urge you to side with working Californians, instead of hobnobbing with the ultra wealthy.”
